Paradai Nakhon Si Thammarat Red Pod 70%, 50g

A single-origin dark chocolate made from Red Pod cacao grown in Nakhon Si Thammarat, southern Thailand, 70% cacao.

There’s a fun background to this bar; the cacao tress that grow in Nakhon Si Thammarat produce predominately yellow cacao pods, while a small percentage (approximately 10%) of the pods are red. Paradai wondered if the red pods would produce a different taste, and isolated those pods to create this bar! The red pods do indeed produce a different flavour profile from the regular Nakhon Si Thammarat cacao. The red pod bar was the first Paradai product we tried ourselves, it was such a favourite it put Paradai on our radar right away. Now we’re bringing it to the Irish market.

Tasting Notes: Cherry, raspberry, orange zest, and floral notes.
